Donna I. Norton, a cherished resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and former beloved member of the Altus, Oklahoma community, peacefully passed away on March 27, 2024, at the age of eighty- five.

Born Donna Irene Schritter on September 16, 1938, in Frederick, Oklahoma, she lived a life rich in love and devotion to her family and community. From her formative years on the family farm to her role as a dedicated homemaker, Donna’s presence radiated warmth and joy to all who knew her. She graduated from Manitou High School in 1956 and pursued further education at Western Oklahoma State College in Altus, Oklahoma.

On June 18, 1970, Donna married Carl W. Norton in Altus, Oklahoma, and together they raised their children, Larry, Carla Jean, and Judith, with boundless love and unwavering support. Donna was a proud and active member of First Baptist Church in Altus.

Following the passing of her beloved husband Carl, Donna demonstrated remarkable resilience, balancing her career at First National Bank with her deep commitment to family and friends.

Her culinary talents and green thumb made her home a sanctuary of warmth and hospitality, where cherished memories were cultivated amid blooming gardens and shared meals.

In her later years, Donna faced health challenges with grace and courage, finding solace in the company of her son-in-law, daughter and granddaughter in Colorado Springs. Surrounded by love until her peaceful passing, she leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and humor.

Donna will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Schritter, mother, Margarete Schritter, son Larry Conditt, and sister Rose Anna McFall.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Judith Meyer and husband Dan, daughter-in-law Cathy Dreschsler Logsdon, three grandchildren, Justin Conditt, Catie Russell, and Silvia Meyer, two great-grandchildren, Raylon Conditt and Annelyse Conditt, as well as niece-in-law Leslee Conditt and nephewin- law Blain Russell.

A memorial service honoring Donna’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Lowell – Tims Funeral Home Chapel, with inurnment to follow at Martha Cemetery, officiated by Dr. Jeff Moore.
