Both Harmon and Jackson County Extension Offices are offering a joint pre-season wheat meeting on Thursday, Aug. 8. Both meetings will include the same topics covering variety and variety trial results discussion, herbicide, fertility, and seed treatment options, stocker cattle feeding strategies in conjunction with wheat pasture, and projected wheat budgets for the 2013/2014 production year.
Speakers will include Dr. Mark Gregory, SW District Area Agronomy Specialist, Dr. Chris Richards, OSU Extension Beef Cattle Specialist, Mr. Jason Pace, SW District Area Agriculture Economist, Mr. Lawrence Tomah, Harmon County Agriculture Extension Educator, and Gary Strickland, Jackson County Agriculture Extension Educator.
The Harmon County meeting will begin at 11 a.m. and go to 1 p.m. at the Gould Community Building, located directly east of Stockman’s Bank. The Jackson County meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and conclude by 8 p.m. at the Jackson County Extension Office located on the north side of the WOSC campus.
