Introduction to Photography workshop to be held at library

August 25, 2013

There is still time to sign up for the photography workshop at the Altus Public Library. Introduction to Photography with Ray Miller will be held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, Aug. 27, 28 and 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost is $30. The only requirements for the workshop is a camera and the camera manual. The camera can be of any type-digital SLR, point and shoot, film or even the camera on your phone.
Some of the areas Ray will be covering include exposure, landscape photography, getting the most out your manual, depth of field, High Dynamic Range (HDR) photograpy and tips for taking great photographs. Ray has even included an assignment after the second class, taking a landscape photo using the rule of thirds. Ray will explain just what is mean by the “rule of thirds” during his discussion on composition.
The workshop is funded in part with a grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council. For more information or to sign up call the library at 477-2890. Visit it our Facebook page at Southern Prairie Library System or our web site at
