OKLAHOMA CITY – KOCO 5’s “On The Road Salute To Service Tour” kicks off a week-long celebration of our state’s military heritage and the dedicated service of our active duty and retired military personnel.
Oklahoma has a proud and unique history of service to the nation in all branches of military, in times of peace and war. KOCO 5 will showcase the people and stories of our state’s history of dedicated service. During the tour, KOCO 5 will visit military installations all around Oklahoma, tour facilities, meet service members and broadcast newscasts live from the communities visited.
The tour begins in Altus on Monday, Sept. 30, with a visit to Altus Air Force Base. KOCO 5 will broadcast the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. news live from Altus City Park. On Tuesday, Oct. 1, the tour visits Fort Sill, broadcasting the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts from the Fort Sill Field Artillery Museum. Wednesday, Oct. 2, brings the tour to Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City. KOCO 5 will broadcast the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. news from Town Center Mall in Midwest City. Thursday, Oct. 3, takes the tour to Vance Air Force Base in Enid. KOCO 5 will broadcast live at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. from Enid’s Convention Hall. Friday, Oct. 4, the tour concludes with live broadcasts at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. from the 45th Infantry Museum in Oklahoma City. The museum is a unique showcase of Oklahoma’s distinguished military service, past and present.
The public is invited to join KOCO 5, sponsors and military guests for the live broadcasts each day.
