A Christmas Pet Adoption Sale is being held on Saturday, Dec. 14 and Saturday Dec. 21, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Altus Animal Control Center, 2200 Enterprise Drive, in Altus, to match new owners with lovable animals in need of new homes.
“We have some pets we are going to let go for decently cheap from animal shelter,” said Animal Control Supervisor Tony Lee. The Animal Control Center has many puppies, dogs, and cats of various breeds and sizes to choose from, ages 8 weeks and up, ready to be both indoor or outdoor pets. Spayed and neutered pets are going for $40, and non-spayed and neutered animals for $80. Lee explained that the extra $40 is a deposit to be returned once the new owner shows proof the animal was fixed, as required by State Law.
Interested pet owners must have enough room in their home for the size of the pet, and must be able to take it to the veterinarian for checkups and rabies shots.
“We want to make sure they have good home and don’t want to get them back for neglect or abuse,” said Lee.
