First National Bank holds annual coat drive

December 19, 2013

First National Bank in Altus has once again held their annual coat drive with all donations going to the Altus Fire Department Coats for Kids campaign. This is the third year to hold a drive. First National Bank in Altus was able to donate gently used coats and raised $1,000.

“The Fire Department is grateful to have community partnerships like First National Bank in Altus to help raise funds for Coats for Kids,” said Altus City Fire Chief Jerry Abbott. “Every year we are able to meet our goal because of these partnerships and the generous citizens of Altus.”

The money that is raised is used to purchase new coats for children and distributed through the Salvation Army so that children can open their new coats for Christmas. Used coats are cleaned by Altus Cleaners and are available to anyone in the community at the Salvation Army Thrift Store. For more information you can contact the Altus Fire Department at 481-2231.
