Felony charges filed in murder case

January 17, 2014

Felony charges have been filed by the State of Oklahoma against Sandra Josephine Woodard of Lone Wolf, for murder in the first-degree.

District Attorney John Wampler filed charges with the Kiowa County Court Clerk’s Office on Thursday, Jan. 16, against Woodard for causing the death of Harley Douglas Moody, by inflicting several mortal wounds with a semi-automatic pistol, and that Moody died as a result of the wounds inflicted by Woodard.

According to the affidavit, on Jan. 7, around 11:14 p.m., Woodard stated in a 911 call to the Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office that she had accidentally shot her boyfriend. When law enforcement agencies responded to the scene at 20456 E 1410 Road, Lot 49, Lone Wolf, Moody was found lying on a bloody bathroom floor at the residence, where Moody was pronounced dead by emergency medical responders. Moody appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds, and a pistol and used ammunition were found on the bathroom floor near him.

According to the affidavit, in an interview with law enforcement, Woodard stated that she and Moody were involved in a sexual role-playing game when the shots were fired.

The affidavit states that there were inconsistencies in Woodard’s statements after an examination was conducted with the crime scene.

Woodard is being held under a $1,000,000 bond.
