One of country’s prospects to play in Shortgrass

One of the best high school players in the country will appear in the 42nd annual Clester Harrington Shortgrass Invitational Basketball Tournament.

The tournament begins on Thursday at Cletus B. Street Fieldhouse.

Justin Jackson, a 6-9, senior will make a return visit to Altus. Jackson who plays for defending tournament champion Houston Christian Youth Association was last year’s tournament MVP .

Jackson is a deadly shooter from the outside and is headed east to play for Roy Williams’ North Carolina Tar Heels.

The tournament begins at 3:30 p.m. Thursday when Bruce Harrington’s Lawton Eisenhower Eagles play Chickasha. At 5 p.m. unbeaten Oklahoma City Centennial will meet Dallas HSSA. Houston takes the court at 6:30 p.m. when they will take on the Duncan Demons. In the nightcap game at 8 p.m. the Altus High Bulldogs will play Kevin Harrington’s Lawton MacArthur Highlanders.
