Downtown gets spruced up ahead of Spring

March 12, 2014

The trees that line the street of down town Altus are being trimmed to prepare for the spring and summer seasons. For nearly two weeks, Louis Tree Service and Stump Removal of Altus, represented here by Louis Coronado and Andrew Pina, has been taking down the far stretching limbs along Commerce Ave, Hudson, Broadway, and Main. They will also re-mulch the flower beds along those roads.

City of Altus Parks, Cemetery, and Golf Manager Freddy Perez informed that the service was contracted out through the City of Altus not only to make downtown look nice for upcoming events like the Walking on Chalk, and the Rock and Rumble, but also because the trees had grown so much that many businesses storefront signs were blocked from view and were also collecting pigeon droppings.
