Water Action Plan presentation to be given at Council meeting

An update on OMPA activities will be heard during the regular meeting of the Altus Municipal Authority meeting on Tuesday. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in Council chambers at the City of Altus Municipal Complex.

A presentation and update from Duane Smith of the Southwest Oklahoma Water Action Plan will then be heard before the consent agenda is considered.

The annual audit report will then be reviewed, before considering a resolution a budget amendment to reflect strategic military planning grant money for the Veterans waterline project in the amount of $22,100.

The AMA will then reconsider how minutes in executive session will be handled, followed by an item pertaining to relocating ductile iron pipe for the Round Timber Water Line.

An item authorizing the AMA to enter into a loan agreement and note for the funding of all expenses of the Nona Substation will then be considered, followed by funding options for the OMPA loan.

Immediately following the meeting, the regular Altus City Council meeting will be held, with items adopting budget amendments for both the Fire Department and the City of Altus. Council will then consider adopting an ordinance imposing an extra monthly electric utility fee due to the failure of the Nona Substation loan.

An agenda item will then be considered to approve the Street Department to seek quotes for chipping oil and limestone cover chips for an area from Park Lane to Veterans Drive east and Park Lane to Howse on the west.

Council will then consider a resolution accepting the Laurel Homes 9th Addition amended final plat and the Altus City Planning Commission recommendation.

In executive session, Council will discuss the employment of the City Manager, an individual salaried public officer or employee, and in open session, vote to authorize an employment agreement with duties as prescribed in the new charter.

Council will then consider, discuss and vote upon, as applicable, water sources and products for the City after returning to regular session.

The meeting will adjourn after hearing comments and reports.
