Lone Wolf man hospitalized after accident

A Lone Wolf man was injured after a one-vehicle accident in Kiowa County Thursday.

According to reports from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Phillip Thomason, 49, of Lone Wolf, was driving a 2003 Toyota Corolla on State Hwy 54 just 1/2 a mile north of CR 1590 when he was distracted inside the vehicle and ran off the road to the right.

Reports state that Thomason over-corrected and entered into a broad slide, departing the left side of the road. He then struck a concrete culvert with the right side of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to roll 3/4 times, coming to rest on the left side.

Thomason was pinned in the vehicle for approximately 33 minutes before being extracted by the Snyder Fire Department. He was taken to Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton where he was admitted in stable condition with head, internal trunk and leg injuries.

there were no passengers, and no other vehicles were involved. Seatbelts were equipped and in use, airbags were equipped and deployed.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Josh Christian, and assisted by Trooper Shawn Laughlin, the Kiowa County Sheriff’s Department, the Snyder Police and Fire Departments, the Kiowa County EMS and the Comanche County EMS.
