Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation’s service. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the men and women who stood tall against the enemies of the United States in all Wars, to ensure a brighter and safer future for us all. May we never forget those who have truly made America the land of the free and the home of the brave.
The Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 4876 invites the public to join in a recognition ceremony of the sacrifices and devotion of our America’s veterans. The event will be held on Monday, May 26, at 11 a.m., at the Altus City Cemetery.
A luncheon will follow at the VWF Post, 500 N. Veteran’s Drive. Guest speaker will be Altus AFB Wing Commander Col Spangenthal. All military, as well as the general public, are invited to attend.
The American Legion Post 44 will also be holding their annual Memorial Day breakfast on Monday, May 26 at 8 a.m. at the Towers Apartments meeting room. There is no cost for the breakfast. The post invites Active Duty, Reserves, National Guard, veterans and their families to the breakfast. There will be a guest speaker. For more info please contact Commander Rick Carter at 405-464-1472.
