June 24, 2014

Altus’ very own Red River Toastmasters Club member Paula Weeks has recently received the 2013-2014 Area Governor of the Year Award for the Division and District 16. This award recognizes the area governor whose dedication, commitment, and area team significantly contributed towards achieving the district mission. District 16 includes the 3,243 members participating in 85 Toastmaster Clubs within 22 Areas in the State of Oklahoma.

Weeks is currently the Area K-4 Governor which includes Conoma Toastmasters in Bethany, FAA Toastmasters and McEnvoy’s McSpeakers in Oklahoma City and Mustang Toastmasters in Mustang. As Area Governor, Weeks serves as liaison between the district and these four clubs via semiannual area club visits to understand how clubs are fulfilling member needs and how the district is supporting each club. She has done an outstanding job as an Area Governor and will continue serving as Area K-4 Governor during 2014-2015.
