Altus Air Force Base airmen and families were honored at the Great Plains Stampede Rodeo Military Appreciation Night, held Thursday, Aug. 21. Military guests were served up a free hot dinner by members of the Altus Chamber of Commerce and Altus Military Affairs Committee to show their gratitude for serving the USA, and being part of the Altus community.

Col. Bill Spangenthal, 97th Air Mobility Wing Commander, Chief Master Sgt. Bryan Creager, 97th AMW Command Chief, and Col. Sushil S. Ramrakha, 97th AMW Vice Commander, rode out on tall horses during the rodeo’s opening ceremony to be recognized along with military personnel and families who attended the opening night at the Great Plains Stampede Rodeo.

Tonight and Saturday night the Altus Fraternal Order of Police will host their barbecue dinner for all to enjoy. All proceeds will benefit Stephen Booker who is undergoing medical treatment.
