Are you curious about your tax dollars at work? Now you can track the payment of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) money paid to Oklahoma counties online. First go to www.fema.gov/Oklahoma and you'll see three disaster buttons. Click the "Recovery Statistics" button. Click on the county of interest on the map, for countywide totals, or click "Oklahoma Summary Report" at the top of the map for statewide totals.

By clicking on Jackson County on the state map, you'll see two pie charts for Project Worksheets by Category and Federal Share Obligated by Category. As of noon on Friday, FEMA indicated having paid $434,321.06 to Jackson County for the Ice Storm, Jan. 28-30 of this year. The biggest piece of the pie for project worksheets was for Protective Measures, followed by Roads and Bridges, and then Debris Removal. For the Federal Shares, the Protective Measures comprised 92.68 percent, while Debris Removal was 7.32 percent. FEMA pays 75 percent of designated costs related to certain disasters.
