Altus Disabled American Veterans Chapter 33 will have a monthly pancake, bacon, sausage, egg, biscuits and gravy breakfast 7-11 a.m. Saturday, July 9 at the Towers Apartments Meeting room, 101 E Commerce St. in Altus. Cost is $5 for all you can eat. Carry outs available. Proceeds will help needy veterans and their families in Southwest Oklahoma. The Southern Prairie Library System presents “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read” Summer Library Reading Program at 2 p.m. at the Altus Public Library, 421 N. There will be Tai Chi: Moving for better balance classes for older adults and their caregivers from 1-2 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, beginning July 6 for six weeks at the Altus Public Library, 421 N. The Salvation Army of Altus is scheduled to host its sixth annual golf tournament 9 a.m. July 16 at Quartz Mountain Golf Club and will include a four-person team scramble format with prizes awarded for closest to pin, longest drive and longest putt. The net proceeds from the tournament will benefit The Salvation Army’s Soup Kitchen and food pantry and ongoing social service programs. For more information, contact Maj.
