Severe weather predicted for Southwest Oklahoma

Staff Report

From the Emergency Operations Center, Emergency Manager Lloyd Colston reported that for the next 24-hour period, periods of rain with lightning and hail are possible. Though the tornado threat is not zero, it is very low.

Outdoor activities should have a weather monitor, especially Thursday evening and all day Friday. Passing thunderstorms will likely have lightning with them.

Rainfall totals of a quarter to half an inch are possible in the area. For those traveling, the rain and flooding potential is north and east of Altus.
