An overnight break-in was reported at the Altus Public Library this morning. Police let employees into the facility around 9 a.m., after going through the library thoroughly.
It was said that whoever broke in, gained entry through the back door, as well as a window. One employee said that several desks had been gone through, with both personal items and library property being taken.
Among the items found missing were cameras and laptops. The brand new laptop that is used with the libraries 3-D printer was among the items stolen.
The robbers seemed to have intentionally stayed away from areas and offices in the library where there were a lot of windows, but left evidence that could be used to identify them.
The initial call about the break-in was from a passerby. The alarm at the library did not go off.
