Public hearing on MAPS to be held during Council meeting

A regular meeting of the Altus Municipal Authority will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers on Tuesday, Sept. 15. A regular meeting of the Altus City Council will immediately follow.

AMA agenda items include awarding a bid for well field controls and telemetry equipment, and hearing a report regarding resolution of a permit violation at the Southeast Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The AMA will also vote to approve a memorandum of agreement between the Altus Air Force Base, the AMA, and the Southwest/Area Economic Development Corporation regarding the Oklahoma State Quality Jobs Program Act for work performed at Altus AFB associated with the KC-46A Formal Training Unit, or take other appropriate action.

The purchase of an additional pickup for the new Public Works Director/Engineer is on the agenda, before entering the regular City Council meeting.

A public hearing to clarify and restate the purpose of MAPS sales tax revenues for the Fire Department will be held after the consent agenda. The next item on the agenda is to make provisions severable, containing other provision relating thereto, and declaring an emergency vote on both.

Acceptance of 1643 CDBG 15 awarded to the City of Altus by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce will be approved, followed by an administrative contract with SWODA for the administration of 16432 CDBG 15.

Discussion and possible vote regarding the Rotary Center located at Hightower Park is next on the agenda. The item will be to renovate the building, demolish it, or use it for storage of Christmas in the Park lights and displays.

It will be decided whether or not to increase the purchase price of the Aerator for the Golf Course on the Capital Purchase List from $15,000 to $27,684.57, and to increase the purchase price of the Greens Roller from $6,150 to $9,783, or to take other action.

Increasing the purchase price of the courtesy car for the Airport on the Capital Purchase List from $25,000 to $30,000, and to change the new mid-sized SUV to two used vehicles, or take other action is on the agenda.

If there is no new business, Mayor’s appointments and comments and reports from the Mayor, City Manager, and Council will be heard before adjourning.
