Altus Police seek suspect for armed robbery that occurred early Monday

Altus police are investigating an armed robbery that was reported shortly before 4 a.m. Monday from the Stripes convenient store at 1120 Falcon Road.

According to Police Chief Tim Murphy, the clerk told investigators that a white male, wearing a dark-colored coat and a ski mask entered the store and pointed a gun at her. The suspect escorted the clerk behind the counter and demanded that she remove and place the money from the register in a bag. The suspect left the store headed Westbound on foot with an undetermined amount of money.

Police continue their investigation and are also asking anyone with information about this crime to contact crime stoppers at 482-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
