The Red River Toastmasters Club of Altus recently hosted their annual Humorous Speech and Evaluation Contest. Two contestants used their best speaking skills to entertain the audience using humor in their speeches. In the evaluation contest, two contestants listened to a sample speech and were given five minutes to prepare an evaluation of the speech and then gave a two minute verbal presentation to the speaker and audience. A panel of judges scored each contestant based on predetermined criteria while a timer recorded the length of each speech according to time restriction rules.
The winners of the contest are: Michael Sherlock for Best Humorous Speech and Jorge Guerrero for Best Speech Evaluation.
