According to the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority, electric customers in the town of Olustee will be without power for a brief period on the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 22, as maintenance is performed on the electric system.
The power outage is scheduled for 9 a.m., and is expected to last four hours. The time period will allow for the replacement of a faulty transformer.
It is occasionally necessary for utilities to turn off portions of their electric system to perform upgrades, repairs and other maintenance which improves safety and can increase the reliability of service to their customers.
The Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA) is a municipal wholesale power and transmission service supplier owned by 41 municipal electric utilities. OMPA provides economies of scale in power generation and related services to support community-owned electric utilities. The members of OMPA serve approximately 250,000 Oklahomans.
