Enrollment numbers and staffing needs on Monday’s School Board agenda

A regular meeting of the Altus School Board will be held on Monday, June 8, beginning at 5 p.m. in the conference room at the administration center, 219 N. Lee.

Agenda items include recognition of Washington Elementary School as a Great Expectations Model School for 2014-15, as well as recognition of the Altus High School State Track Placers.

School enrollment numbers and staffing needs for 2015-16 will be addressed, as will preliminary plans to explore converting elementary schools to Grade Centers for 2016-17.

Open student transfers, and 0ut-of-state travel activity fundraisers are also on the agenda.

A revised policy dealing with executive sessions will be addressed, followed by retirements, resignations, reassignments, proposed substitutes, volunteers and extra duty assignments.

Proposed new hires will be discussed in executive session, and then possibly approved after returning to open session.

Insurance coverage will then be addressed, as will temporary appropriations requested by the Jackson County Excise Board.

The price of Altus High School football season tickets will be discussed, followed by action to possibly declare vehicles and other items as surplus.

The meeting will adjourn if there is no new business.
