Mayor Jack Smiley signed a proclamation this week recognizing Oct. 4-10 as Public Power Week in Altus. The designated week is in honor of Altus Power’s contributions to the community, as well as to increase the awareness of its consumers, policy makers and employees. The honor is also for the contributions Altus Power makes in our lives.
Altus Power provides the residents, businesses, farms, social service, and local government agencies with reliable, efficient, and cost-effective electricity, employing business practices designed to ensure the best possible service at not-for-profit rates.
Altus Power is a valuable community asset that contributes substantially to the well-being of local citizens through energy efficiency, customer service, environmental protection, economic development, and safety awareness. The department is dependable and trustworthy, and will continue to work to bring lower-cost, safe, reliable electricity to community homes and businesses.
On Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Altus Utilities will hold Consumer Appreciation Day at their office. Altus Utilities is located at 509 S. Main in the City Complex. Altus Utilities invites all customers to come by during that time.
