A special called meeting of the Altus Board of Education will be held Monday, Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. to to recognize the Altus High School football team as the Class 5A State Champions. The meeting will be held in the Altus High School cafeteria to accommodate the large crowd expected to be in attendance.
Following the special meeting, a regular meeting of the Altus Board of Education will be held at 5 p.m. at the administrative center, 219 N. Lee.
Agenda items include a report from the Grade Center Committee.
Consent agenda items include the Professional Development Plan, Educational Assistance Plan, activity fundraisers, out-of-state trips, use of facilities, and an agreement with the Oklahoma Health Care Authority.
Items dealing with policies include revised policies dealing with nondiscrimination, the Altus Public Schools Wellness Policy, grade placement promotion and retention, and reading sufficiency.
Employment items include retirements, resignations, reassignments, proposed substitutes, time sheet employees, volunteers, and extra duty assignments.
In executive session, the Board will discuss any proposed new hires, and after returning to regular session, possibly vote on new hires.
The 2016-17 will then be approved, followed by a Link Crew item dealing with attending basic training in California.
Retrofit roofs for the Altus High School Vocational Agriculture building, cafeteria corridor and Will Rogers Elementary School will be considered before adjourning.
