The Altus High School football team will be recognized as the new Oklahoma Class 5-A State Champions at this coming Tuesday night’s AMA and City Council meetings. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Council chambers.
Items on the Altus Municipal Authority agenda include budget amendments, receipt of claims and financial reports.
The AMA is set to award a contract for the phase II water treatment plant improvements, receive a report on the increased cost estimate for the purchase and installation of automatic water and electric meters, and obtain bank bids for a loan to fund the project.
If there is no new business, the meeting will adjourn and the regular City Council meeting will begin.
Council will receive receipt of claims and acknowledge monthly reports before a presentation is given on the Government Finance Officers Association Budget Award process and how it will affect Altus’ FY 2016-17 budget process. The presentation will be given by Assistant City Manager Matt Wojnowski.
An ordinance pertaining to fees charged will be considered inserting months for basketball and football, adding cheerleading and increasing fees for football, use of the swimming pool and water slides including private parties will be considered.
Council will then accept a gift from Wisdom’s Call, LLC for certain real property commonly known as 418 E Cypress in Altus before approving contracts for construction manager services by and between the City and Joe D. Hall as construction manager for both the Altus Senior Activity Center and the Altus Fire Rescue – Central Fire Station.
An agreement with the Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC) for administration of the sales and use tax ordinances of the City and an agreement to engage in compliance activities by the City and/or take other appropriate action will be considered before any new business is addressed that may have arisen after the posting of the agenda.
