Altus – One last ARC/PLC step…Producers are now able to execute ARC/PLC program contracts for payment for the 2014 and 2015 program years under the farm bill authorized by Congress last year. This is the 3rd and final step in the process that producers have been working on since last fall. Contracts should be completed by Sept. 30, 2015.
ARC/PLC is for any producer with an interest in a crop on a farm that has historical base acres. No one in Jackson County has completed this step. No applications have been submitted since signup began June 15, 2015.
Persons with an interest in a commodity and control of acres on a farm that have base are entitled to share in these contracts. Tenants must provide evidence that they control commodities and acres. Certain eligibility requirements must be met by parties requesting payment. Each producer must be considered actively engaged in farming, be compliant with highly erodible land conservation and wetland conservation provisions, and must certify to AGI (adjusted gross income) levels.
Producers should contact the Jackson County office at 580-482-4312, ext. 2, for an appointment.
