David Brown gave the oath of office for his appointment to the Board of Trustees at this week’s Jackson County Memorial Hospital board meeting. Brown will be serving a four year term.
During the meeting it was announced that revenues did not meet expectations in inpatient and outpatient departments. Total expenses were under budget by 8.9% resulting in a net income of $16,310 and a year to date net loss of $614,662.
Also during the meeting Diane King and Ignacio Martinez, Charles Schwab, presented the annual review of the 401k plan. The Service and Strategy Review through Oct. 31, 2015 indicates there is a 66% participation rate among JCMH employees, with a total of $67 million in plan assets. They also presented an investment review of funds through October 31, 2015 and did not recommend making any changes.
The board then approved the Jackson County Memorial Hospital Level IV Trauma Center Commitment Statement. JCMH serves region 3 in Southwest Oklahoma, in compliance with the Oklahoma Trauma Care regulations.
Michelle Ford reported from the Outreach Clinics. The financial statistics indicated a total of 229 admissions and 163 outpatient procedures and observations were contributed to JCMH for the month of December.
Fixed Assets from Funded Depreciation and Designated Funds to Funded Depreciation were approved in the amount of $85,539.45 for the month of November and $31,501.94 for the month of December.
Richard Pope reviewed the quarterly safety report to include fire drills conducted, fire system inspections, new employee orientation and work related injuries.
Dr. M. George Zakhary reported from the JCMH Medical Staff Executive Committee meeting that was held on Jan. 11. The Board approved the initial appointment of Jon M. Brown, APRN-CRNA – Anesthesia, Allied Health Staff; provisional staff of Harold N. Claver, DO – Emergency Medicine, Provisional Staff; Mayank N. Dave, MD – Internal Medicine/Hospitalist, Provisional Staff; and Miguel L. Rodriguez, MD – Internal Medicine/Hospitalist, Provisional Staff.
Reappointments approved were Jerome L. Anderson, MD – Cardiovascular Disease, Courtesy Staff; Robert M. Clark, MD – Cardiovascular Disease, Courtesy Staff; Kenneth L. Ford, MD – Pathology, Courtesy Staff; and Lesa D. Ford, MD – Pathology, Courtesy Staff.
Elevation of Provisional Staff to Courtesy Staff approved were Alexander Barrero, DO and John R. Fitzgerald, DO.
Under the management report, physician recruitment was said to be continuing for one general surgeon.
The application has been filed with the state for the Rural Health Clinic Development, and the onsite inspection is expected in early February. The target go-live date for RHC designation is July 1, 2016.
Stage I has been approved by the state licensing office for the Women’s Center. The projected submission of final construction documents is early summer 2016.
It was also reported that JCMH is now a part of the Blue Preferred and Blue Advantage networks, and that JCMH and Tricare are renegotiating terms of the agreement in order to receive a larger portion of the AAFB referrals.
