The Oklahoma Municipal League (OML) is proud to announce Debbie Davis as a member of the 2016 graduating class of the Citizens Academy Leadership Training (CALT). The ceremony was held at the Stillwater Community Center on Friday, Feb. 12.
The Citizens Academy Leadership Training program is a 12 month leadership development program designed to engage citizens to become community leaders by learning valuable skills in the areas of teamwork, community assessment and planning, economic development and tourism, and community renewal.
Debbie spent the past year traveling around the state to six host cities, developing her leadership skills while building valuable relationships with a diverse group of community leaders. Executive Director Carolyn Stager has this to say about the CALT IV, “This year’s class was an amazing group of leaders from around the state. They bonded throughout the year and worked hard on their final class projects. Their dedication and commitment made this year’s CALT a great success!”
Debbie Davis of Altus said, “This has been an amazing experience for me. Learning to work as a team and networking with others from all across the State of Oklahoma will be an invaluable tool. Relationships have been formed that will last a lifetime. I have enjoyed visiting all of the other communities and learning how they have worked through difficult economic times to rebuild and expand their cities. I am hoping that Altus will be a host city for a future CALT Class so that we can share our success stories”
The CALT Class IV would not be possible without the generous support of community partners, including Oklahoma Gas and Electric, Oklahoma Natural Gas, Public Service Company of Oklahoma and Phillips 66.
CALT’s Class V is forming now. For more information and to apply for CALT Class V, visit www.oml.org or contact Cheryl Adams at (405) 528-7515, email@example.com.
