Due to Monday being a federal holiday, the Jackson County Commissioner’s meeting was postponed until Tuesday.

During the meeting, County Treasurer Renee Howard reported that county sales tax collections for December 2015 from the State were $125,126.70. This is a $9,316.19 increase. The December 2015 Use Tax collections from the State were $5,646.02 which is a $4,305.15 decrease. The December 2015 tobacco tax collections from the State were $1,331.77, a decrease of $83.98.

Approval was then given to open bids on antennas for emergency communications for the Jackson County Rural Fire Chiefs Association, as well as for materials for metal roofing and components.

The Warren Volunteer Fire Department (REAP GRANT) was given approval for a concrete approach pad, interior insulation, and heaters for the truck bays. Contractors are Gallagher Construction, Darryl Hopper of Mangum, and Mac Thoronbrough of Sayre.

Commissioners then gave approval for linking authorization for the State of Oklahoma Purchase Card Program. The State of Oklahoma and Bank of America have an agreement in which authorization is allowing counties to obtain a credit card for county purchases or services.

The meeting adjourned with no claims or new business.

Note: Prior to the commissioners meeting, Dan McMahan gave a Jackson Counties Facility Authority Report on resolution 2015-1. This is for the potential redemption use of the 2010 bonds that could be used as of April 1, 2016. McMahan reported that at the present time, there was not enough funds available. In July, 2016 the numbers would be reviewed for the next payout in October.
