Raymond, Cheryl and Justin Moody, owners of M&B Contracting L.P. have been selected as the 2016 SWTC Partner in Progress. The Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Education (OkACTE) Partners for Progress award recognizes businesses and industries that have made outstanding contributions to the improvement, promotion, development and progress of career and technology centers in Oklahoma.
M&B Contracting L.P. opened their doors for business in 1999. Raymond and Cheryl Moody along with their son, Justin, currently run the family owned operation with anywhere from seven to fourteen employees at any given time. The company is diversified in the services offered to the public; from demolition to dirt work, storm debris pick up and roll off containers to monitoring soil vapor extraction systems and concrete work. Most recently, when the opportunity arose and their was a viable need, the company secured a contract with the City of Altus to haul off trash which had compiled in the city alleys, a service beyond the weekly dumpster emptying public service offered by the City of Altus.
M&B Contracting, L.P. became clients of the SWTC Business and Industry Services (BIS) department in January of 2008. Since that time they have taken advantage of many resources the BIS team offers, from obtaining a Duns and Bradstreet number to gaining assistance with signing up for the Central Contractors Registry (CCR) and the Systems of Awards Management (SAM) to become eligible for State, Local and Federal contracts. By working with the Oklahoma Bid Assistance Network (OBAN) coordinator at SWTC, Lori Miller, the Moody’s receive assistance in navigating contracting sites such as FedBizOpps.gov and Spending.gov to search for RFPs that coincide with their company’s service offerings. By participating in SWTC Business Fairs, the Moody’s obtain contracting leads and are afforded the opportunity to network with key contract decision makers at Altus Air Force Base, Fort Sill and Sheppard Air Force Base. Additionally, the company utilizes the low cost plan room and blueprint printer available to all SWTC BIS clients, giving them the opportunity to accurately bid projects that meet their company’s criteria for services.
M&B Contacting representatives and employees take advantage of many customized industry trainings, which also gives them a leg up when bidding government contracts. Fall Safety, OSHA and Hazwoper are just a few certifications, which have enabled the company to obtain and renew many government contracts.
“The Moody’s work diligently and consistently with the SWTC Business and Industry department,” said SWTC Business and Industry Director, Kerry Evans. He went on to say, “We are honored to have M&B Contracting L.P. represent SWTC at the Partners in Progress Day at the Oklahoma State Capitol.”
