Altus Public Schools named two Employees of the Month in February, Jessica Robinson, social studies teacher at Altus High School and Kaylee Thornbrough, Altus Junior High’s library media specialist. Danna Robinson, President of Stockman’s Bank of Altus, presented each employee with a certificate and a crisp $100 bill.
Jessica Robinson has been teaching at Altus High School for the past four years. She is the daughter of Janet Robinson and the late Bart Robinson. As well as teaching, Ms. Robinson also serves AHS as a Link Crew Advisor and National Honor Society Advisor. She is a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Phi Alpha Theta Historical Society. When asked what she most enjoys about her job, Ms. Robinson’s reply was, “I feel fortunate to have begun my career in Altus with passionate colleagues, mentors, and administrators. However, best part of my job is the relationships with students; they make every day worth it, and everything else I love about my job pales in comparison. Making relationships with students and going to work every day knowing it matters is a great feeling.”
Kaylee Thornbrough has been with Altus Schools eight years. She and her husband Monty have a two year old son, Ander, and a seven year old daughter, Anna. Kaylee began her career at Altus Intermediate School before moving to AJH as the librarian. She is a member of First Baptist Church and serves as Kicks for a Cause Board Member and a member of Beta Mothers Club. “I love working for the same school system I went through as a kid. The loyalty, passion, and creativity that my co-workers have is contagious,” Mrs. Thornbrough replies when asked about what she most enjoys with her job.
