Members of Main Street Altus are excited and pumped up for the 18th annual Rock-N-Rumble car show and cruise.
David Braddock and Rollan Horschler, co-chairs of the event, were glad preparations for the event are underway.
“Every year we look forward to the cruise and we appreciate the businesses who support the event,” Braddock said.
On Saturday, immediately following the car award ceremony, is the show cruise from 6-7 p.m.
All car cruise participants must follow the cruise guidelines. Vehicles are subject to inspection before approval.
All motorcycles will be allowed. No under-construction vehicles allowed during show cruise. Vehicles in show cruise have the option to remain in the rest of the cruise from 7-9 p.m.
The cruise is open to all vehicles with a cruise pass. Vehicles will merge in at 7 p.m. at 200 West Commerce.
Registration for car show and cruise will be on the west side of courthouse square near the corner of Hudson and Commerce streets from 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Motorcycle registration for the poker run, show and cruise will also be on the west side of the square.
Main Street Altus Director Amy JoCobb sought to remind visitors that her office will close 4 p.m. Friday, but there are still T-shirts available for purchase and time left for event registration .
The City of Altus ordinance prohibits people from bringing dogs or cats to a public event such as the Rock-N-Rumble, either indoors or outdoors. The only exception is a service animal. Penalty for violating this ordinance is $104.
