LAWTON — Comanche County Memorial Hospital or CCMH is holding a grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. today. The grand opening for Phase I will take place in the lobby of the new state-of-the-art regional Drewry Family Emergency Center at CCMH.
There will be a short ceremony, emergency room tours and refreshments. Phase II of renovation of the existing Emergency Department will occur before the end of 2016, completing the project.
On Jan. 17, 2014, CCMH broke ground on construction to build a new state-of-the-art regional Emergency Center. The plans were to nearly quadruple the space of the existing emergency room opened in 1984. The new Emergency Center will increase treatment room capacity by 50 percent which will allow more patients to be treated in a larger facility with modern design comfort and efficiency.
CCMH is a 283-bed not-for-profit county hospital and the regional referral center in Southwest Oklahoma.
