New hires, decided at special School Board meeting

Altus Schools held a special board meeting on Wednesday, July 29 to consider claims and various employment items.

The meeting began at 12 noon in the conference room at the administrative center, 219 N. Lee.

After considering claims, the Board approved the following personnel items:

Certified resignations: Heather Gagliardi, 3rd Grade at Sunset Elementary, effective 5/22/15, and Park Johnson, Science at Altus Intermediate School, effective 5/22/15.

Non-certified resignations: Joseph Gleaton, Crossing Guard at Sunset Elementary, effective 5/22/15; Joy Goss, Special Ed. Aide at Roosevelt Elementary, effective 5/22/15; Beth Hansen, 4 hr Cook at Rivers Elementary, effective 5/22/15; and Debbie Taylor, Cafeteria Manager at Roosevelt, effective 5/22/15.

Reassignments with change in salary, non-certified: Yun Town, From: 8 hr Bus Aide at District, To: 6 hr Bus Aide at District.

Substitutes: Alison Clinton, and Courtney Madison.

Extra duty: Tammy Hampton, Mentor Teacher at Washington Elementary; and Teddie Mitchell, Mentor Teacher at Will Rogers Elementary.

Certified new hires: Angela Doughty, 1st Grade at Sunset Elementary, effective 8/5/15; and Stacey Jordan, Elementary at Washington Elementary, effective 8/5/15 (Pending Certification).

Support: Mark Gambill, Bus Driver/Grounds & Maintenance, effective 7/30/15; Laura Mills-Cherry, Teacher’s Aide at Rivers Elementary, Effective 8/5/15; Charlotte Perry, Bus Aide at District, efective 8/5/15; and Norma Sorrell, Cafeteria Mgr at Roosevelt Elementary, effective 8/5/15.
