Bulldogs first home game to be homecoming

Altus High School football fans are anxious for the new season to begin. They can get a sneak peek of what’s to come this season with the Bulldogs by attending Saturday’s Blue and White game. The practice will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. (For more on the Bulldogs and the Blue and White game, see page 4 of today’s edition.)

The Bulldogs will also host a scrimmage with Weatherford next Friday, and will scrimmage Frederick and Eglin on Friday, Aug. 28.

As with tradition, the Altus Bulldogs will play the Vernon Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4. This years rivalry game will be held there.

The kicker this year is that Altus’ first home game will be homecoming, on Sept. 11, when Altus faces Anadarko. Last season, Anadarko defeated the Altus Bulldogs 42-7.

Other games will be at Elk City at 7 p.m. on Sept. 18, El Reno at 7:30 p.m. here on Sept 25, in Lawton Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. against Lawton Mac, hosting Del City (Pink Out 2015) at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 9, at Chickasha at 7 p.m. on Oct. 15, at Ardmore at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 23, hosting Duncan (Pep Squeakers) at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 30, and hosting NW Classen (Senior Night 2015) at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 6.
