Just a few more days remain until the “Cotton Pickin’ Chili Cook-Off” is held on the downtown square in Altus. Here, Chili Cook-Off Chair Margaret Worrell joins volunteer Kally Tuttle and Main Street Altus Director Amy Jo Cobb to set up a sign and display for Saturday’s event. Festivities begin at 9 a.m. with chili served beginning at 10 to those who have purchased tasting bowls. Aside from a wide variety of mild to extra hot chili, there will be salsa and barbecue categories as well. Other attractions during the event include a petting zoo, farm displays, wagon rides, a watermelon spitting contest, a slide and rock wall, and more. Registration forms are available at the Main Street Altus office. For more information, call 580-482-2277 or email MainStreetAltus@sbcglobal.net.
