First National Bank’s relay for life team, the “FNB Cancer Crushers”, is gearing up for their annual 5K Fun Run/Walk to raise money for Jackson County Relay for Life. Last year the team raised over $10,000 and hopes to raise even more this year with the support of our sponsors and registrants.
They have decided to make this year’s event even more fun by implementing color and including children by adding a kid’s dash as well. The Cancer Crushing Color Run will be held on Saturday, April 19 at 10 a.m. at the Altus Reservoir and the Kid’s event will be held starting at 11 a.m.
Registration forms are now being accepted at both First National Bank in Altus locations. In order to qualify for the pre-registration cost of $20 forms will need to be turned in by March 31 and these registrants are guaranteed a shirt. Race Day registration is $30 and those registrants are not guaranteed a shirt, but the team will do their best to accommodate all they can.
For those who can’t make it by to register during normal operating hours, they will be accepting registrations at the Bunker Hill Location on Monday, March 31 from 4 to 7 p.m. Stop by register and ask any questions you may have.
There will be a Bib/Shirt pickup night on Friday night, April 18, on the west side of the Community Center from 6 to 8 p.m. The team will provide a spaghetti dinner for all registered runners and walkers and if your family wants to come with you but they aren’t participating, don’t worry. Dinner for all others is only $5 per person. They are also excited to add a silent auction to the dinner. It will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. with lots of really great items all donated by local businesses.
They are excited about bringing a color run to Altus and hope you will join them in the fight against cancer. If you have any questions contact First National Bank at 580-482-7700 and ask for Jennifer Lee or Megan Lewis.
