Seven new Altus Police Officers were sworn in by Altus Police Chief Tim Murphy at the Altus City Council regular meeting on Tuesday, July 15.Chief Tim Murphy introduced Officers Chris Elrod, Thomas Hill, Jerry Downen, Alexander Michael Wilson, Jentry Brown, Tony G. Favalora, and Erasmo Gonzales.“I'm certain that these officers know this themselves, but with the badges that they wear come great authority and even greater responsibility,” Chief Murphy said. “I as well as the citizens of Altus have great expectations of these officers.”The new officers then swore an oath to defend, enforce, and obey the Oklhaoma Constitution, Altus City Charter, and City ordinances, as well as protect the rights, lives, and property of all citizens.
