New Altus Chamber of Commerce President Brain Bush was greeted by members of the Altus community during a welcome reception hosted by the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors at the Chamber on Thursday afternoon, July 17. Bush and his wife Becca were welcomed by business owners, civic leaders, and Altus Air Force Base leadership as he begins his third week in his new position, gearing up to spearhead economic progress for the hometown he grew up in.
“It feels great to be back home,” Bush said. “What’s really great about a community like this is that it’s a hometown for so many people. It has a home feeling and people can enjoy growing their families here, growing their businesses here, and put their roots down, and I am excited about doing that with my own family.”
Bush said that his first few weeks have been a focused effort on meeting current business owners and those in the banking industry.
“I’ve been talking to them to find out what’s already going on and what their needs are and what we can better do to serve them, and the types of things the community needs. I really try to do a lot of listening to hear what are the things they want to see happen in this community and what can we do to pull those ideas together and make a difference together for the future of Altus.”
Moving from Edmond, Bush and his wife Becca bring with them their son Tyler, 12, and daughter Melynn, 4.
