Julianne Thomison will be the Mistress of Ceremonies at tomorrow night’s Miss Altus Teen Pageant. The pageant will be held at the Altus City Auditorium at 8 p.m. Tickets are still available today from any contestant, or at the auditorium from 6:30 to 9 p.m. for $10. Tickets will be available at the door the night of the event for $15.
Thomison was crowned Miss Tulsa’s Outstanding Teen 2012. In the State pageant, as a rookie contestant, Julianne was blessed to be crowned Miss Oklahoma’s Outstanding Teen 2012 at the age of fourteen, becoming the youngest to ever win the title. She received the first fitness award ever given and a rookie talent award. Subsequently, Julianne represented Oklahoma at Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2013 in Orlando, where she finished in the Top 8.
Julianne is a junior at Metro Christian Academy, in Tulsa, where she is a member of the National Honor Society, active in student leadership, and involved in various extra-curricular activities. Last fall, as co-captain of the MCA Pom Squad, she led the team to a 5A State Championship, which received the highest team score in the entire competition, at the State Dance Team Championship. She was selected All American Pom.
Julianne continues to pursue her love of dance, as a member of the South Tulsa Dance Company’s senior level competitive dance team, where she has won numerous Regional & National elite performance ratings. Julianne has attended the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, at Quartz Mountain, in modern ballet for the last two years. Julianne continues to be an active volunteer, recently receiving her Duke of Edinburg Silver Medal at the MOOT 2014 pageant.
