Carpenter to emcee pageant

The 2014 Miss Altus Outstanding Teen Pageant will be held Saturday, Aug. 3 in the Altus City Auditorium at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are also available from the Teen Contestants. Prices are $10 in advance or $15 at the door on Saturday. There are 12 young ladies vying for the title.


Emcee for the event will be Lake Dion Carpenter. Lake has been a vocal entertainer since the age of 6. He has performed on a local, statewide and national level. In 1993 he was named Male Vocalist of the year under the age 16 at the Oklahoma Opry. Then in 1995 he was selected to sing and perform on the Nashville Network Television station. Besides Vocal entertaining, Lake loves the theatre and he has performed in several lead roles in a variety of Broadway Musicals including Will Parker in Oklahoma, Hines in the Pajama Game, Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun, and recently as Albert Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie. The last 4 years he has been named BEST ACTOR IN A MUSICAL by the Red Carpet Community Theatre in Elk City.


In addition to his performance experience, Lake graduated Magna Cum Laude Honors at Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science. Currently he is the Senior Vice President and Head Cashier at the Bank of Western Oklahoma and he is also the Music Minister at the First Baptist Church in Leedey. He is a father of two beautiful daughters and he enjoys watching and supporting them in all their different activities.


Recently Lake received his Miss Oklahoma judge certification and he serves on the board for the Miss Elk City and Queen of the West Pageants in Elk City. He is very honored to be here tonight and to have the opportunity to support all these contestants.
