Calling all volunteers! It’s time again to put on the gloves and hit the streets for the city-wide effort to “Clean Up Altus!” Volunteer groups are scheduled to pick up litter and trash that has collected on the main thoroughfares of Altus including Main Street, Broadway, Tamarack Road, Falcon Road, Veterans Drive, and Park Lane, as well as the City Park and around the Reservoir. Additional volunteers are needed.

The event will be begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Rotary Center located at the East City Park. Volunteers will pick up their bags from 8 to 9 a.m. and go to their assigned locations. Between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., volunteers should return with their trash bags full. M & B Contracting will be supplying a roll-off.

In conjunction with the clean up effort, residents businesses and are encouraged to spend a few hours collecting any nearby litter, to edge their property, spray and remove weeds, mow, and trim tree limbs.
