Strawn, Walker designated as new receiving officers

The Jackson County Commissioners designated new receiving officers for the County Assessor’s Office during their regular meeting, 9 a.m., Monday, Sept. 16 in the Commissioners’ Office of the County Courthouse. Previous receiving officers Robert Wigington and Susan Walker were removed, and Greg Strawn and Susan Walker were designated as receiving officers.


Commissions also approved a one year lease for a Canon copier between Lee Office Equipment and Jackson C0unty Clerk’s Office from Sept. 6 through Aug. 31, 2014. The lease includes an $1,800 rental fee for the year and a one time fee of $95.


During the meeting, Commissioners also approved last meeting’s minutes, reports, officer reports, and blanket purchase orders. Blanket purchase orders were approved for Dolese (for District #1), Alternative Sentencing Solutions for District Drug Court, and for Moody Landfill (District #2).


County Treasurer Renee Howard reported on collections from the Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC) for the month of July. The OTC collected $109,721.45 for County Sales Tax, down $1,102.60, collected $4,499.44 for County Use Tax, up $254.4, and collected $1,541.33 in Cigarette Tax Collections from the State of Oklahoma, up $98.86 from last month.


Commissioners approved claims and the meeting adjourned.
