Pioneer students, alumni and the community are invited to celebrate Western Oklahoma State College’s Homecoming 2013 activities Monday, Nov. 18 through Friday, Nov. 22 .
The week begins with Old School Day. Pioneers will don their old school clothing and compete in the Homecoming organizational poster decorating contest. Gift cards will be awarded to the top three winners of the contests. Tuesday, Nov. 19 is Spirit Day. Western will show its school pride by wearing green and gold, with the top three winners also receiving gift cards. A full slate of activities begins that evening with a free burger and hotdog feast served in the WOSC gym foyer at 5 p.m. Members of the WOSC Alumni Association with serve guests at this event and invite guests to purchase the Alumni Association’s 2014 Pioneer Perks Card. The Lady Pioneers play Southwest Christian JV at 5 p.m., the Homecoming King and Queen Coronation is at approximately 6 p.m.
The 2013 queen and king candidates representing their respective student organizations are: Ambassadors: Andee Pruitt and Kaden McCombs; BCM: Jordan Brown and Logan Hamilton; Softball: Ashley Nicole Rutledge; Baseball: Alnaydo Rodriguez; Women’s Basketball: Katelynn Shumaker; Men’s Basketball: Stirling Thomas; Criminal Justice: Maggie McBrayer & Thomas Pierre-Louis; WINDS: Mary Ann Callaway & Clarence West; PTK: Jessica Hiatt & Parker Charping; Student Senate: Rebecca Dill and Ryan Whitehead; Western Choral Society: Mikayla-Jo Balderas and Roy Redman; Rodeo: Dana Spirzke and Ben Whiddon; Cheerleading: Sierra Swanda; FCA: Malori Moss and Steven Durtsche; Aggie Club: Whitney Hall and Layne Smith; Western Jazz: Emily Nealy and Troy Hays; Psi Beta: Taylor Sanchez; Rotaract: Lindsay Barnes and Kendyn Webster; Wesley Campus Ministry: Ben Schultz.
The Pioneer men’s team play Southwest Christian JV immediately following the coronation at 7 p.m.
On Wednesday, Nov. 20, students are invited to enjoy Candle Art in the Pioneer Point Hallway from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 is Western’s Night at the Movies. Students can pick up tickets for a free movie in Katie Brewer’s office, located in C-1 . Friday night is Casino night from 8 to 11 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Center. WOSC Alumni will also serve as dealers for the evening. Area high school seniors and Western Students can join the fun and win valuable prizes including 12 hours of paid tuition, an iPad, iPod, a mini-fridge and many more great prizes.
