Candidates for the Board of Education in seven different Jackson County school districts can file Declarations of Candidacy between 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

The Board of Education positions at stake will be filled at the Annual School Election scheduled Feb. 11, 2014. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the total votes cast in this election, the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes will meet in an election on Tuesday, April 1, 2014.

Offices for which Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board office include Altus School District I-18 Office No. 4; Blair School District I-54 Office No. 4; Duke School District I-14 Office No. 4; Eldorado School District I-25 Office No. 4, Office No. 1 (unexpired term); Navajo School District I Office No. 4; Olustee School District I-35 Office No. 4; and Southwest Technology Center #27 Zone No. 5.
