The Jackson County Commissioners held their regular meeting to reorganize the Board of County Commissioners for the calendar year 2014, and to consider other items on the agenda, Monday, Jan. 6, in the Commissioner’s Office of the County Courthouse.
Commissioners Cary Carrell and Marty Clinton considered reorganizing the Board due to the retirement of previous Chairman Anthony Fixico, and approved Resolution No. 2014-1 appointing Carrell as Chairman, and approved Resolution No. 2014-2 appointing Clinton as Vice-Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners.
After approving minutes from the previous meeting, Commissioners approved reports from the Treasurer’s Office, Sheriff’s Department, Assessor’s Office, Court Clerk, District Attorney’s Office, and County Clerk’s Office.
County Treasurer Renee Howard provided a report on annual property taxes collected during the entire month of December, totalling $6,748,270.32, compared to last December’s collection of $6,792,730.52.
Commissioner Carrell reported a petition in foreclosure issued, and a summons in the District Court of Jackson County from Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance versus Cody Kenemer.
Blanket purchase orders were approved for Western Equipment for parts and Supplies, and Martin Marietta Materials for 3 1/4” crusher run.
Commissioners approved Supplemental Appropriations for the month of December, 2013, to include the Assessor’s Fees, Revolving Fund, Sheriff’s Service Fees Fund, Sheriff’s Contract Prisoners Fund, and Sheriff’s Commissary Fund.
Commissioners approved Resolution No. 2014-3, authorizing County Treasurer Howard to apportion earned interest to designated accounts for Jan. 1 to June 30, 2014.
Commissioners approved Resolution No. 2014-4, to dispose of equipment from District 3, a 2007 Komatsu WA-480 Wheeled Loader sold at Ritchie Bros., Auction in December, 2013.
There was no new business. After approval of claims, the meeting adjourned.
