The 6th annual Southwest Oklahoma Women’s Conference will be held Friday, Jan. 31, at Southwest Technology Center. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the actual conference beginning at 9 a.m. running until 3 p.m.
This one day conference is being sponsored by Southwest Technology Center, Great Plains RC&D and numerous generous area sponsors. A committee of several women from communities all around Southwest Oklahoma has been working diligently making plans for its third successful conference. The last Conference in 2012, approximately 100 women attended the conference and this year looks to be an even larger attendance.
The conference was designed after the statewide model and was created to provide a networking environment along with vital information to women who are connected to farming or have a small business they manage. Its objectives are to continually redefine women’s roles in business and agriculture, strengthen that role and foster a network of support among women.
This years conference will have topics will range from what to expect from Identity Theft, Made in Oklahoma, Self Defense, Importance of Buying Local, Nutrition and Exercise, Local Author or “And the Rain Came Tumbling Down”, and How to Handle a Crazy Lifestyle. Numerous educational exhibits will be available. A special attraction to the conference the “Southwest Oklahoma Mini Mall” will showcase 15 to 20 women owned businesses who will have their products on display.
Dynamic and professional speakers, educational exhibits and the exciting “Mini Mall” will give women in Southwest Oklahoma an opportunity to spend the day learning and networking and gaining new information.
