The 2014 Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Princess, Emily Smith of Altus, will have a coronation celebration 6 p.m. Saturday, March 1. The event will take place at the Altus Community Center on Falcon Road. The event will be an evening of cowboy music and cowboy poetry along with the formal coronation ceremony. A BBQ supper will be served. Event Emcee will be PRCA Rodeo Announcer Brian Franklin. In addition to the supper and evening event, all three state title holders will hold a meet and greet and autograph signing at Gator’s Western Wear on Saturday afternoon from 2-4 p.m.

“We have an excellent evening or entertainment planned along with a fantastic BBQ supper,” stated Emily. “I am excited to have many of my friends from around Oklahoma coming to my hometown. I am looking forward to a fun event and even more excited about my year ahead as Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Princess,” she said.

Kathy Shumway of Oklahoma City and the National Director for the Miss Rodeo Oklahoma organization said, “We hold the coronation celebrations in the hometowns of the state titleholders so that their local communities can come out and support the outstanding accomplishment of the hometown girl as well as learn about the major responsibilities the girls have as Miss Rodeo Oklahoma titleholders.”

Advance tickets for the event, which include the BBQ supper are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets are available at Gator’s Western Wear or KEYB Radio, or by calling (580) 301-3723.
