Commissioners designated new Receiving Officers for District 1 and considered other items on the agenda during the regular meeting of the Jackson County Commissioners on Monday, March 3, in the Commissioners Office of the County Courthouse. Commissioners designated Robert Duvall and Bruce Evans as the new Receiving Officers for District 1, which included removal of Receiving Officer Kim Adams.
At the beginning of the meeting, Commissioners approved previous meeting’s minutes and reports for the Jackson County Assessor’s Office, Sheriff’s Office, and County Clerk’s Office. They also approved blanket purchase orders for the Sheriff’s Department, Jackson County Health Department, and Highway Department.
Commissioners also approved appropriations, and supplemental appropriations, for the month of February, 2014.
Jackson County Treasurer Renee Howard reminded that the second half of County Taxes are due to the Treasurer’s Office by March 31.
Jackson County Emergency Management Director Wayne Cain reported that the Association of County Commissioners of Oklahoma is having a voluntary wellness and fitness contest for County employees to compete against other Oklahoma counties for a prize of $10,000. The contest began in October 2013 and runs the duration of 1 year. A Resolution will have to be approved before entering the contest.
“Every one of these they have done studies on has not only helped fitness and morale, but has improved the overall health of employees, reducing sick leave and everything,” Cain said.
Commissioners approved a $20 Reimbursement to the General Fund Account for the Jackson County Election Board for the Precinct Registry from the Duke Public Schools Election.
Commissioners approved a bid for Royal Printing for printing and delivery of digital ballots for all elections during the 12 month period from Jan. 1, to Dec. 31, 2014. The other bid opened was Mid-West Printing , who did not meet all the requirements.
There was no new business. After approval of claims, the meeting adjourned.
